How it works

Community HealthView gives researchers and policymakers the ability to create custom maps and tables of health in their communities - depicting populations at risk, health outcomes, and the distribution of health interventions.

Who uses Community HealthView and what are they doing?

  1. Local Public Health Officials and Agencies
  2. State Health Department Officials
  3. Clinicians and Administrators
Local Public Health Officials and Agencies use Community HealthView to answer questions such as the following:
  • As I prepare to embark on a drug use prevention campaign, which neighborhoods should I target?
  • In which congressional districts are the highest rates of low birth weight found?
State Health Department Officials use Community HealthView to answer questions such as the following: Clinicians and Administrators use Community HealthView to answer questions such as the following:
  • Where are the African-Americans under age five within 10 miles of a Community Health Center in the community served by my clinic?
  • What is the percentage of uninsured patients by census tract in the community served by my clinic?
  • How prevalent is drug use in the community served by my clinic?
